National


The total trade in February 2024 grew by 10.8 per cent, valued at 2,405.5 million dollars compared to January 2024. This was contributed by exports and imports valued at 1,547.3 million dollars and 858.2 million dollars respectively.

 

The major export value contributors were Mineral Fuels, followed by Chemicals, and Machinery and Transport Equipment.

 

The main export markets were Australia, followed by the People's Republic of China, and Singapore. The largest export commodities to these countries were Mineral Fuels and Chemicals.

 

Meanwhile, the three main imports by commodity were Mineral Fuels, Machinery and Transport Equipment, and Food. The largest import partners were Malaysia, followed by the People's Republic of China, and Indonesia.
